Fr8Tech launches AI module to automate proof-of-delivery validation in freight

Freight Technologies (Nasdaq: FRGT) on Thursday launched AI POD Validation, a new module within its Fleet Rocket Transportation Management System designed to automatically read and verify proof-of-delivery documents and flag those that do not meet validation requirements, the company said.

Proof-of-delivery documents, or PODs, are essential for closing out shipments and providing carriers with evidence needed for payment. But warehouses, carriers and customers each use their own document formats, complicating the matching of data, stamps, signatures and other approvals. The new AI module, developed by Fr8Tech’s in-house AI Lab, is built to perform those reviews automatically.

The module receives a POD document, cross-references it against the shipment record, and returns one of three verdicts — Approved, Review or Rejected — along with a confidence score and supporting evidence. That information is displayed directly in the shipment record, allowing operations teams to focus only on documents that require human review.

“Every shipment ends with a piece of paper that someone has to read, compare and approve. Multiply that by thousands of shipments a month and you have one of the most repetitive, expensive and error-prone tasks in freight operations,” said Javier Selgas, Chief Executive Officer of Freight Technologies. “This is exactly the kind of repetitive work we built our AI Lab to resolve. AI POD Validation lets the software handle the mundane reading and matching, and empowers people to manage important customer and vendor relationships.”

**Practical enterprise AI adoption**

The launch underscores a trend in enterprise logistics toward targeted AI applications that automate narrow but high-volume operational bottlenecks rather than pursuing broad industry overhauls. Fr8Tech positions the module as a practical tool that reduces manual data entry and document review workload for logistics operators.

Key capabilities cited by the company include:

- Multi-model signature and stamp detection with consensus filtering - Structured optical character recognition (OCR) that preserves label-to-value relationships - Spatial document understanding that matches pickup numbers, bills of lading, carrier names and invoice data against the Fleet Rocket load - Bilingual stamp interpretation covering English and Spanish - Automatic document-quality checks - Fully explainable decisions that show operations teams exactly why each document was approved, flagged for review or rejected

The module is available to Fleet Rocket customers as part of the Enterprise version. It joins the AI Tendering Bot and the Zayren.ai integration as part of Fleet Rocket’s broader transportation management platform, Fr8Tech said.

**Broader document-intelligence push**

The company expects to extend the same document-intelligence approach to other freight documents, including carrier invoices and bills of lading. That is part of Fr8Tech’s ongoing transition to a software-first, SaaS-based business model focused on the U.S.–Mexico corridor, the company said.

Fr8Tech’s portfolio also includes the Fr8App platform for cross-border over-the-road shipping across the USMCA region, Fr8Radar for GPS integration and real-time tracking, Zayren for AI-based pricing prediction and carrier matching, and DODA Smart for AI-assisted customs compliance. Each product is designed to connect carriers and shippers while improving matching and operational efficiency through live pricing, real-time tracking, digitization of critical documentation, and other capabilities.

The U.S.-Mexico cross-border freight corridor, where Fr8Tech concentrates its offerings, is known for high volumes of manual documentation and fragmented formats, making automated document validation a particularly relevant application.
